Current Status

I'm now holding an equivalent to a master's degree (Diplom-Ingenieur)! But I will continue to do a PhD study. In addition, I am also planning to take some language courses.

I finished the Informatik (computer science) master's course at the Vienna University of Technology on June 9, 1998 (with honors, in case anybody cares).

The examinators for my final exam were Prof. Nicola Leone, Prof. Uwe Egly, and Prof. Andreas Krall. Prof. Leone was the advisor for my thesis, so this examination was mostly a short presentation of the thesis (Gzipped PostScript, 8 pages, 59267 bytes, SeaScape mode!). Prof. Egly asked me about theorem proving in non-classical logics, and Prof. Krall's examination was about abstract machines.

The academic graduating event took place on July 2, 1998. There, I gave a speech as a representative of the students (Gzipped PostScript, 2 pages, 15220 bytes, in German).

History

I've received grants from the Austrian Science Funds while doing work for the project "Design and Implementation of a Query System for Disjunctive Deductive Databases" from 1997 until June 1998.

I worked at the Programming Languages and Compilers Group, Institute of Computer Languages at Vienna University of Technology as a Student Assistant from October 1, 1995 until May 31st, 1996. In the course of this, I finished a "Praktikum" (semester-term-project).

Before that, I assisted Ulrich Neumerkel with a beginner's course in Logic Programming.
