Which documents do I need for my application?
- Application form (filled-out and signed)
- Evidence of prior achievement (degree certificate (Master degree or higher) of a post-secondary education institution including course transcript and an explanation of the grading system/s used in these degree certificate/s)
- Abstract of diploma / master thesis
- CV
- Motivation letter
- At least two letters of recommendation
- Certificate of English language proficiency
- Scan of the applicant's passport - only the pages with picture and personal data
- Officially certified transcripts of degree certificate/s (only for NON-EU-citizens (excl. Swiss nationals))
- Optional: Research proposal

Application documents: Should I hand in copies/scans or originals?
The application form has to be submitted in hard copy as well as electronically (important: before it has to be filled out electronically because it will be processed automatically). All other documents have to be transmitted electronically, via e-mail. Upon request students must be able to provide us with all the original documents within 10 days.
Which English Language Certificates are accepted?
- TOEFL score of at least 550 paper-based, 217 computer-based
or 81 internet-based - IELTS score 6.0 or higher
- CAE score B or higher
I have not yet completed my degree, may I already apply?
Yes, if you expect to graduate before November 30, 2010. If selected, you must be able to submit your degree before November 30, 2010.
I am not a citizen of the EU, may I apply?
Yes, students for this international programme are recruited world-wide.
I am an international student, where can I get help with visas, housing, etc?
OeAD, the Austrian Agency for International Cooperation in Education and Research is Austria's leading non-profit service in the field of international co-operation in education and research. They will gladly assist you in these matters.
