SPAM: A SPARQL Analysis and Manipulation Tool

Contents

What is SPAM?

SPAM is a research prototype for providing help for the development of (well-designed) SPARQL queries. Its main features comprise both, a graphical and textual query editor as well as several functions for the static and dynamic analysis of (well-designed) SPARQL queries. A short summary and introduction can be found in our VLDB 2012 system demo.

SPAM builds upon Apache Jena. Among others, we use it to parse and evaluate SPARQL queries.

Download SPAM

SPAM is written in Java. Below, we provide both, a compiled version of SPAM (SPAM.jar) as well as the source code.

System Requirements

SPAM requires Java to be available on your system (available at http://java.com).

Dependencies

SPAM uses the following software libraries: While the .jar file is self-contained and includes all necessary libraries, they are not included in the source code (but should be easily retrieved using Maven).

SPAM WebApp

We are currently working on porting the SPAM tool into a web application. We expect a first version to be available at the end of 2016.

Contact

The software was originally developed by Andreas Letelier, Jorge Peres, Reinhard Pichler, and Sebastian Skritek. It has been extended by Andreas Taranetz.

Funding

The development of SPAM was funded in part by Marie Curie action IRSES under Grant No. 24761 (Net2), and by the Vienna Science and Technology Fund (WWTF) through project ICT08-032 and project ICT12-015. Jorge Perez was supported by Fondecyt grant 11110404 and by VID grant U-Inicia 11/04 Universidad de Chile.
