I. System Requirements for Running Fide 2.0

- IBM PC compatibles, 286 or higher
- MS-DOS 3.3 or higher and MS Windows 3.0 or higher
- 4 MB RAM and 4 MB of free hard disk space
- A VGA monitor
- A mouse

II. Fide 2.0 Features

- almost no limits on the size of applications
up to 256 labels per variables
up to 256 variables
up to 8,100 rule statements per inferenc unit (FIU)
up to 16,320 labels per inference unit.

TVFI (truth value flow inference)

min, max, probability product and sum, intersection, union

graphical editing of membership function (MF) shapes

rule matrix editor is an effective maens for rulebase development

- debugging environment:
MCU environment - simulate characteristics of specific chips

- debugging tools:
tracer - allows isolating a portion of FIU transfer function and
quickly tracing back to the rulebase (rule statements)

analyzer - present several graphical representations of a FIU
transfer function; automatically trace a point from its
graphical representaion to its source code; provide cross
section, coutour (projection), and control surface.; gives
a global view of the transfer function response.

- simulator:

presents fuzzy units in time domain. includes a built-in signal
generator (sine, cosine, exponential, step function, ramp,noise,...)
reads in step inputs and plots simultaneously the time-varying
curves of both inputs outputs on the same frame for comparison of
convergence, discountinuities, and phase relationships.

- composor:
is a CAD simulation tool to execute fuzzy logic applications.
integrate fuzzy inference units with nonfuzzy units into a
system for simulation. provide both graphical and textual
environment. generates C source code for the composed system.

- run-time code (RTC) generators: The RTC generates the following
1. assembly code for MC6805, MC68HC05, MC68HC08, MC68HC11,
MC68HC16, and 6833X families of Motorola, Inc.
2. ANSI C code for PC, Mac, and Unix platforms.
3. MatLab M File format code, to be used as a module of
MathWorks, Inc. MatLab simulator.
