Conference Theme:

Soft Computing in Intelligent Systems and Information Processing

Conference Objective:

The purpose of the symposium is to provide a regular meeting for the
experts in Asia and all over the world to get together to exchange
experiences, promote technologies, stimulate innovations.
The symposiumwill also serve as an industrial liaison for theacademic
society, and to provide a chance for the industry to exhibit
their most current capabilities.

Areas of Interest:

The topics to be covered in AFSS '96 include:

Relations between fuzzy logic and other approximate reasoning

The Symposium will be held in Taiwan at Caesar Park Hotel, Kenting. Kenting
is a very famous scenic site in Taiwan. The beautiful Pacific scenery and
the warm climate during the meeting
time makes it a perfect location for the event.

Registration Fees:
The symposium advanced registration fee per person:
Member (CFSA, SOFT, IFSA) : US$180
Non-Member : US$200
Student : US$40
(Students must affix one photocopy of current student ID.)
A regular registration includes one copy of the proceeding, a reception and
a banquet

Submission of Papers

Authors are invited to submit camera-ready papers for the symposium pro-

-Papers should be prepared on 8.5 by 6 inch white paper, text area of 7 by
4.7 inch,
one-column, single-spaced in Times or similar font style, 10 points.
-You can get sample files from the WWW pages at and
by ftp from, cd group/world-scientific/procs.
-Papers should not exceed six pages including figures, tables, and

Announcement for Journal Publications
A number of papers from the symposium proceedings will be selected for a
special issue in Information Sciences and a regular issue in Journal of
Chinese Fuzzy Systems Association.
