The Second International Conference on Computer Simulation will take
place in Beirut, Lebanon, September 1-4, 1997. The conference will
focus on recent trends and advances on all aspects of computer
simulation. The presentations will be made in the form of contributed
and invited papers in regular or special sessions, and
state-of-the-art lectures by keynote speakers. Authors are invited to
submit original technical papers not previously published describing
novel research or developments in one of the areas mentioned below.
All papers will be subject to peer review. The topic areas for the
conference include, but are not limited to, the following:

SCOPE

The Second International Conference on Computer Simulation will take
place in Beirut, Lebanon, September 1-4, 1997. The conference will
focus on recent trends and advances on all aspects of computer
simulation. The presentations will be made in the form of contributed
and invited papers in regular or special sessions, and
state-of-the-art lectures by keynote speakers. Authors are invited to
submit original technical papers not previously published describing
novel research or developments in one of the areas mentioned below.
All papers will be subject to peer review. The topic areas for the
conference include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Simulation Methodologies: Simulation validation, object-oriented
simulation, event-oriented languages, continuous system languages,
optimization and simulation algorithms.

* Computer Performance and Advanced Processing: Circuit simulation,
processor simulation, network and distributed systems simulation, computer
system simulation, performance evaluation through simulation.

* Intelligent Simulation Environments: Fuzzy set theory and
simulation, AI in simulation, neural-network-based systems.

* Environmental Modeling: Soil and water simulations, environmental
monitoring and change, and energy systems.

* Applications: Simulation in civil, electrical, and mechanical
engineering (thermodynamics and mechanical systems, computational fluid
dynamics, control systems, bioengineering, robotics, CAD, transportation
systems, construction operations, manufacturing, power systems, radar
simulation techniques, simulation of communication systems, etc.).
Simulation in medical sciences, physical and chemical sciences, and economic
models.



INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

Submissions of full papers must be received by November 1, 1996.

Submit three (3) copies of the paper. Please limit the length of your paper
to a maximum of sixteen (16) pages. The first page of the submission must
contain:

* The title of the paper;
* author's and co-authors name(s), addresses, affiliation and email
addresses or telephone numbers;
* 100-150 word abstract, and
* 4-6 keywords.

The covering letter should include:

* the name, e-mail, telephone and fax numbers of the author to be contacted
for correspondence; and
* the technical area (topic) of the paper.

The paper must be A4-sized (21x29.7cm) and double spaced. The text must be
Times or Courier font, size 12. Accepted papers will be presented in an oral
presentation session within a 15-20 minutes period and will be published in
the conference proceedings which will be distributed to the participants.

The conference registration fee will be $350 for participants from outside
Lebanon or L.L.150,000 for participants from within Lebanon. The conference
registration fee covers the contributions of principal authors. If the same
principal author appears in more than one paper, a $150 fee (for
contributions from outside Lebanon) or L.L.50,000 fee (for contributions
from within Lebanon) is charged per additional paper.
