Dear Markus,

dedicated fuzzy tools like fuzzyTECH focus on deep insight into the
fuzzy system and efficient code generation. Since their user interface
is compiled for the specific platform, the interface is much faster and
more powerful. MATLAB offers unlimited abilities because the user can
modify everything in m-code.

Another dedicated fuzzy tool with interfaces to MATLAB you may want to
consider is SieFuzzy 2.0. It offers a mex file generator for very fast
executing fuzzy systems within MATLAB that can still be tuned by
routines like fminu and a DDE interface for interactive combination of
MATLAB/SIMULINK and SieFuzzy on one screen. For detailed info on
SieFuzzy please look at http://www.siemens.de/research/siefuzzy or
contact siefuzzy@zfe.siemens.de .
