General description of the session
==================================
The IPMU conference is a biennual scientific conference about theory
and applications of the processing and the management of uncertainty
in knowledge-based systems. Besides theoretical methods and tools, the
conference also focusses on several application fields.
The aim of this session is to make a collection of papers presenting
applications in the field of medical image and signal processing. The
session topics include, but are not limited to:
- Image reconstruction methods for X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MR, PET,
and SPECT imaging.
- Multimodality imaging (e.g., image co-registration).
- Compression of medical data (both images and signals), exploiting
redundancy based on statistical modeling.
- Clinical decision-support and expert systems.
- Automated information retrieval.
- Bioinformatics.
