2. call for feedback on proposal to hold AIPS 2003
3. limited number of AIPS 2000 proceedings available
Call for proposals to host AIPS 2002
The AIPS Executive Council is seeking proposals from organizations
wishing
to host the 2002 International Artificial Intelligence Planning &
Scheduling Conference. The deadline for proposals is 31 August 2000 and
the
Executive Council will choose the venue for AIPS 2002 by 30 September
2000.
There is no set format for the proposal, but potential applicants are
strongly encouraged to include:
* Organizers and organizational structure.
* Details of the venue and accommodations available to delegates.
* List of potential invited speakers.
* Additional events, e.g. workshops, competitions, demonstrations,
visits, etc.
* An outline budget of the the event.
* List of potential sponsors and support organizations.
Co-location with other conferences is a favorable aspect of any proposal
and proposers are encouraged to include such in their proposals.
However,
co-location is only one of several factors (e.g., listed above) that the
executive council will consider in their decision.
Approximately $30,000 is available as profits from previous AIPS
conferences as seed money for future AIPS. This money is required to
guarantee the existence of the AIPS conference series and each
organization
applying to host AIPS 2002 must show how they aim to cover the costs of
the
event (and, if possible, make a slight profit).
Proposals to host AIPS 2002 should be addressed to Steve Chien and sent
to
the address below (electronic submissions are encouraged, first
preference
PDF, second preference postscript).
