to mark the 175th anniversary of the Vienna University of Technology. The
purpose of DAAAM is to provide an annual forum for engineers, scientists
and industrial managers to present and discuss the current status and
impact of advanced manufacturing and automation.
International DAAAM Symposiums:
1. "Automation and Metrology" - Vienna 1990, Austria
2. "Flexible Automation" - Strbske Pleso 1991, Slovakia
3. "Flexible and Intelligent Automation" - Budapest 1992, Hungary
4. "Automation and Metrology: Man, Technology, Environment" - Brno 1993,
        Czechia
5. "Automation and Metrology: Challenge and Chance " - Maribor 1994,
         Slovenia
6. "Intelligent Manufacturing Systems" - Krakow 1995, Poland
7. "Product & Manufacturing: Flexibility, Integration, Intelligence" -
Vienna 1996, Vienna (250 published papers)

SCOPE

The main objective of the Symposium is to provide a world forum which
annually take a part in Middle Europe to exchange knowledge, experience,
results and information related to various aspects of the advanced
manufacturing and modern automation.

The scope of the Symposium covers scientific, technological and practical
concepts concerning research, development and realization of advanced
manufacturing and automation concepts, offering a unique opportunity for
experts to meet and exchange ideas.
Symposium will be concerned with the current status of automation and
manufacturing, methods and results of research and development, as well as
application problems.

DAAAM INTERNATIONAL ART EXHIBITON

As a part of DAAAM International cultural program is planned exhibition of
Japanese painter Mrs. Junko Ueda.

HOST CITY AND VENUE

"Those who seek paradise on Earth should come to Dubrovnik and see
Dubrovnik" (Bernard Shaw). "If there were several Dubrovniks in the world
only one of them would be real Dubrovnik: this genuine, authentic, and only
city made of stone and light. The Mediterranean links it with the
continents, civilizations and peoples. Incomparable Dubrovnik" (J.
Kastelan). Dubrovnik is situated in the very south of Croatia and now the
administrative seat of Dubrovnik - Neretva County and the focal point of a
developed tourist region. Dubrovnik is rich in cultural and historical
monuments and is included in UNESCO World Heritage List. Summer Festival
Dubrovnik is held annually. City is the venue for scientific conferences
