Weighted Clustering

Dear all,

Suppose we have n variables. Every variable has his own degree of
importance, or priorities which are expressed in its weight. This weight
could
either be crisp or fuzzy.
Is it possible to make a cluster using fuzzy c-means? If so how?

My tentative solution is to apply a fuzy rule base (what-if rule) and then
integrate it with a 'normal and unweighted' clusters.

I, a newcomer in fuzzy logic, am currently carrying out a research to
employ fuzzy logic (fuzzy rule base and fuzzy clustering) for shipping /
marine
transport.

Any suggestion and ideas would highly be appreciated.
