[Conference Scope]

AFSS2000 aims to encourage discussion and information exchange between
researchers and engineers including newcomers to the fields of fuzzy systems
and related areas in Asia and other countries. It is also an opportunity to
provide industrial applications, new technologies and products which are
based on fuzzy sets, fuzzy logic and other soft computing technologies.

[Conference Theme]

The theme "the state-of-art and the future of soft computing and
computational intelligence" has an emphasis on the development of
this field in the coming century.

AFSS 2000 covers the following topics, but others relevant to fuzzy systems
and soft computing technologies are also considered.
・瘢雹Fundamentals of fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic
・瘢雹Integration of fuzzy logic and neural networks
・瘢雹Learning and acquisition of approximate models
・瘢雹Integration of fuzzy logic and evolutionary computing
・瘢雹Design and synthesis of fuzzy logic controllers
・瘢雹Hardware implementation of fuzzy logic and algorithms
・瘢雹Fuzzy measures and fuzzy integrals
・瘢雹Qualitative and approximate modeling
・瘢雹Approximate reasoning
・瘢雹Complex systems
・瘢雹Rough sets
・瘢雹Applications to:
Uncertainty measures, System modeling and control, Computer vision,
Robotics and manufacturing, Signal processing,
Pattern recognition and clustering, Data analysis, Image understanding,
Decision making and optimization, Database, Information systems,
Virtual reality, Human interface, Man-machine systems,
Human factors in system design,
Human-computer interaction, Emotional information processing,
Natural language processing, Knowledge-based systems,
Medical diagnosis and expert systems, Artificial intelligence, OR,
Reliability, Finance, Management, Social science, and others.

[Submission of Abstracts]

Authors are requested to send an extended abstract of 500-1,000 words.
They should include title, author name(s), affiliation(s), mailing
address(es), telephone and FAX numbers and E-mail address(es). Please
indicate a corresponding author. E-mail submission is strongly recommended.
Papers for those registered and presenting at the conference will
be published in the conference proceedings; specific details on format and
paper length will be sent upon acceptance.

[Proposal of Organized Sessions]

The goal of organized sessions is to provide focused discussion on a new
topic, or innovative applications of a new approach. Case studies could
also form the basis of organized sessions. One organized session will be
comprised of four papers. Each prospective organizer must submit a
proposal, including the title of the session and a list of authors with
paper titles and abstracts by E-mail.
