It depends what you mean by the phrases 'intelligent system' and
'calculator'... to use suitably fuzzy adjectives, they can be quite
intelligent, though compared to a human they're not very intelligent
at all... but then again, from another point of view, a human being is
just another calculator to a certain extent.

More usefully, an intelligent system can be intelligent enough for the
task at hand, and using fuzzy techniques makes this more possible and
more easy.
