In the literature there are several forms describing the fuzzy set
operations:

Union
Intersection
Implication.

Besides, there are several composition methods of fuzzy relations and as
T.J. Ross mentions in his book: Fuzzy Logic With Engineering
Applications, “Each method of composition reflects a special inference
machine and has its own significance and applications”.

Additionally, taking into consideration the numerous defuzzification
methods and the non-existence of specific algorithms for the
determination of the most suitable membership function morphology, I’m
interested in a fuzzy expert system shell that provides the property to
choose (or that gives me the potential to add) any of the existing
methods of:

Fuzzy set operations
Fuzzy set Composition
Defuzzyfication
Membership function morphology (not only trapezoidal – triangular- Z
type).

My problem concerns the fault diagnosis of a specific solid waste
management system. Because I don't have any experience in expert systems
in general and especially in fuzzy expert system I can’t predict what
kind of fuzzy operations, composition e.t.c. the expert system should
support.

Please sent any recommendations.
Thanks in advance
