Fuzzy Cognitive Maps

Did the topic of Fuzzy Cognitive Maps that Kosko talked about
a lot of years ago die? Were those just a cute academic examples with
no practical value. Just a curiousity question. They looked like a
good dreamy concept where you could feed in a big debate of some kind,
and out would come a prediction of whether the conclusions were
right or wrong.
