One original fuzzy rule induction algorithm is described in my paper:

The rules are generated from so called fuzzy prime disjunctions
which are the strongest disjunctions following from the initial
fuzzy distribution representing the data semantics. A number of
such prime disjunctions upper bound the fuzzy distrbition surface.
The main problem is how to find the prime disjunctions given
a fuzzy multidimensional distribution which represents the data
semantics. One approach described in the above paper is based
on generalised cover technique. Another more efficient algorithm,
called Optimist, uses an iterative approach to simultaniously
generate all interesting prime disjunctions for one pass through
the data base (not published yet).
