useful algorithms

Hi, my friend and I are currently doing a project for Fuzzy ID3 and there
is one paper that I found which is similar to the topic, (Fuzzy
Modeling by Induction and Pruning of Decision Trees, 1994 IEEE) the steps
are as follows:
1. partition the range of each input into fuzzy intervals
2. quantize the training set using the partitions
3. induce a decision tree using modified ID3 from the quantized training
set
4. prune the decision tree

does anyone has suggestions to some sites where I can download some useful
C or Java source codes to modify on? I've searched through the web but I
only found the JFS which I'm not sure how I can make use of it, and I've
tried to find a fuzzy algorithm and then modify it to fuzzy ID3, however,
all I can found was the ID3 in lisp or in prolog.

We are stuck and have no idea how to get started, supervisor has told us
to do a simpler version of the code and the topic first, to at least get a
pass, otherwise we won't be able to finish it. The topic is:

Datamining Software system based on the Machine learning tech.
using the Fuzzy ID3 to generate the decision tree

the supervisor asked us to do the code version of the paper, the title of
the paper is:
Fuzzy decision trees by fuzzy ID3 algorithm and its application to
diagnosis systems.

If anyone has any idea how I can get started with the code, please advice!
Deadline is approaching and I'm desperately looking for useful algorithms
to help starting this project!!
