Dear Biscers

As you may know, the Zadeh Institute for Information Technology (ZIFIT)
was recently formed by a group of academics and corporate individuals.
We are planning a ZIFIT symposium in Maui in conjunction with WAC 2000
scheduled for June 11-16, 2000. The areas of research for presentation
at the symposium include: INTELLIGENT AGENTS, DATA MINING, DATA FUSION,

INTELLIGENT DATA ANALYSIS, RECOGNITION TECHNOLOGY, KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT,
COMPUTATIONAL MODELS OF PERCEPTION, AND DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF
ONTOLOGIES.

If you are interested in giving a presentation or organizing a session
at this symposium, please inform me ASAP. The pundits predict a large
turnout and wonderful weather. Mo Jamshidi has promised a joyful
gathering which he invariably delivers. The following provides a short
fact sheet about WAC2000.

Some of the fields addressed in the Congress ...

Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Control, Financial Engineering,
Image Processing, Management, Manufacturing, Medical Imaging, Multimedia,
Robotics and Soft Computing.

WAC 2000 will take place at the Outrigger Wailea Resort - a 20-acre
ocean front property in the heart of Wailea - arguably the most beautiful
section of Maui - The most popular of all the major Isles of Hawaii.

Important Dates to Remember:

1) Submit a Paper ... by April 1, 1999
2) Organize a session ...by May 1, 1999
3) Organize a mini-symposium ... by June 1, 1999
4) Propose a tutorial ... by June 1, 1999
5) Propose a Panel Session ... by July 1, 1999
6) Exhibition Space ... by July 1, 1999
7) WAC/FIRA Robot Soccer Cup ... by Sept. 1, 1999
8) WAC Pre-Registration and Hotel/Condominium Reservation ... by March
1, 2000

WAC 2000 Anticipated Highlights and Social Events:

Over 750 technical presentations
Over 20 technical, financial and cultural tutorials
including money management, retirement planning, Hawaiian Food, Fruits
and Dance.
Over 5 Technical and cultural tours - WAC 2000 plans to organize
technical tours to the US Air Force facilities, including the observatory, Maui
High Performance Computing Center, Maui Winery, etc.

WAC 2000 Talent Show - WAC 2000 plans to repeat a very popular social
event - the Talent Show in Maui.

WAC 2000 Awards and Dedication Banquet ... WAC 2000 will have a dinner
banquet honoring Dr. Joseph F. Engelberger - the Father of Robotics.

WAC 2000 East-West Dance Party ... WAC 2000, for the first time, is
arranging for live music from both East and West during the week of the
Congress. The feature musician is coming from Los Angeles.

WAC 2000 Golf Tournament ... WAC 2000 will have a golf tournament at
Maui Prince Hotel Courses.

Post WAC 2000 Cruise - WAC 2000 Travel Agency is also organizing a
3-day, 4-day or 7-day cruise ship trips originating from Honolulu after the
Congress.

meeting you have ever attended.
