Hello,

Some of you may be interested to know that you can down load demonstration
versions of our new products RuleMiner and FuzzyControl.
These are available at:

http://www.thinkbase.com

Science in Finance announces their new product RuleMiner.

This ActiveX control can be used with any OLE container and reads Microsoft
Access(TM) and Microsoft Jet(TM) databases. The user can interactively or
programmatically select a table for analysis, select a field in the table to
predict, and other fields to predict from.
RuleMiner generates plain English rules employing Fuzzy Logic to explain the
predicted field in terms of the the other selected fields.
These rules can be read by the user, but can also be read by our product
FuzzyControl, a copy of which is supplied with RuleMiner, which can both
edit and evaluate the rules so that you can embed them in an application.

RuleMiner can be used anywhere high speed analysis and prediction are
required, and especially where the user wants to be able to understand the
basis for the predictions. examples are Marketing, Insurance, Risk analysis,
credit control, medical, scientific, engineering etc..

RuleMiner uses our Fuzzy Tree induction and rule conversion techniques to
create accurate rules much more rapidly than Neural nets and GAs. The user
can select a percentage of the database to be used as a test set, so that he
can accurately estimate the performance of RuleMiner.

RuleMiner handles textual, categorical and numeric data with ease. The rules
generated use the
same textual labels found in the data, and can be viewed and edited using
FuzzyControl and its unique foolproof guided editor. Fuzzycontrol eliminates
confusion about precedence in logical statements with its unique expression
colouring editor which clearly shows the parts of the rule governed by any
selected operator.

Demo versions and further details are available at http://www.thinkbase.com,
including various datasets for you to evaluate RuleMiner's power, and the
full product can be purchased online.

RuleMiner is a component of our Universal Information System, ThinkBase.

Science in Finance was founded in 1993 to develop high quality products
making use of our own research into artificial and computational
intelligence.
