Fuzzy weigh on graphs links

I'm a Italian student, I'm searching for some info about
"How can I define distance on a graph?" where links are fuzzy weighted.

e.g.

near(a,b) = .7 ;
near(b,c) =.5;
near(a,c) = ???.
