We used some fuzzy approaches for target volume detection in
radiotherapy for brain cancer:

T. Waschek, T. A. Runkler, S. Levegruen, R. Egenhart, M. Glesner,
W. Schlegel, M. van Kampen: Application of the subset defuzzification
to fuzzy target volumes in radiotherapy. In Proc. EUFIT 1995, Aachen,
Germany, pages 1643-1647.

Hope this helps,

Thomas
