<fontfamily><param>Times</param>Dear Colleagues:

We are providing software (freeware) on-line so that you can
immediately begin using type-2 fuzzy logic. The software has been
prepared as a collection of M-files for Matlab =AE (a registered
trademark of The MathWorks, Inc.). You can access the software on the
Internet at:
<underline><color><param>0000,0000,00FF</param>http://sipi.usc.edu/~mendel/s=
oftware</color></underline>.

Type-2 fuzzy logic provides a measure of dispersion that captures the
effects of rule uncertainties. This seems to be as fundamental to the
design of systems that include such uncertainties as variance is to the
mean.

The software is keyed into a report that is about type-2 fuzzy logic
systems. It describes some very new ideas that will let you model
linguistic uncertainty totally within the framework of fuzzy logic.=20
You can get information about the report on the Internet at:

eport</color></underline>.
The software and report web pages are linked.

Sincerely,

Jerry M. Mendel
