Fuzzy Trees

hi,

Can anyone point me in the direction of research regarding Fuzzy Trees.
Specifically, I am interested in minimization/pruning techniques for image
analysis.

I have a tree representation of an image, and I would like to manipulate
it such that the tree size is reduced without losing detail in the image.
I also intend to identify areas of interest within the tree using a fuzzy
approach.

Thank you for any input,
-jon king
