fuzzy trees

Hello all.

I am trying to fuzzify the rules I obtained from a classification tree
generated with the CART
algorithm. I would like to do this using a neuro-fuzzy procedure, like
the one suggested by Roger
Jang in his book, that is based on ANFIS.

However, ANFIS only works for function approximation problems, and not
for classification
problems. I am especially interested in fuzzy classification using
inference systems, and not so much
(at least for now) in procedures based on fuzzy clustering.

The rules generated by a classification tree are of the kind:

IF A <=than x AND B is >= than y AND ... THEN class = 1

So, I need to be able to specify sigmoidal MFs, or ramp MFs, or
something like that. Also, CART
sometimes uses the same variable multiple times in the same rule, and
I'd like to be able to maintain
this structure.

If anyone has experience fuzzifying CART rules, or developing
classification trees that are fuzzy
to start with, I'd greatly appreciate having your advice. Also, please
let me know whether you're
aware of any software package (commercial is OK, too), that you think
would do the job.
