III SYMPOSIUM OF APPLICATIONS USING FUZZY LOGIC

1998 is the third year we celebrate in Spain this Simposium about =
applications using fuzzy logic. This time the ATEI (Televisi=F3n =
Educativa Iberoamericana) is preparing a formative programme which will =
be issued the 6th and 13th, november.

This programme is of great interest for all the Departments of =
Authomatic Control, Electricity, Electronics o Computing Departments. =
For this razon we ask you to hand over this information to the chairmans =
of mentioned departments oin your University. The organizers of the =
Symposium, through its coordinator, Mr. Jose Esteban Rojas Nieto, will =
be pleased to answer any question about the event. Please, mail to =
surac@arrakis.es.

The ATEI is an educative TV network used by 70 million people. ATEI will =
issue the "III SYMPOSIUM ON FUZZY LOGIC APPLICATIONS" that will take =
place in Spain.

The event counts on the support of UNESCO and CONVENIO ANDRES BELLO =
(joins Ministries of Education of Venezuela, Chile, Bolivia, Colombia, =
Ecuador, Spain, Panam=E1 and Per=FA.

The programme will show practical advances of this new technic that is =
being a silent revolution in technic, science and industry. Fuzzy Logic =
enables machines simulate human thinking. All this will bring in a few =
years spectacular technical advances in the control systems used all =
over in our societies. Now a days we can find it in many car computers =
comanding air conditioning , brakes or transmission systems; video =
cameras use it for better autofocus or anti-vibration system. You will =
also find it in almost all modern domestic washing machines controling =
the type and amount of dirtiness, the weight and type of the clothes to =
be washed.

Almost all important multinational enterprises in the car, optic or =
electrodomestic field are taking advantage of the benefits the offers =
Fuzzy Logic.

The programme issued by ATEI is based on the different presentations =
that will be done in the "III Symposium on Fuzzy Logic Applications", =
which will take place in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain.

Dr. Lotfi Zadeh, the "father" of this mathematical razoning will make a =
salutation and brief about Fuzzy Applications today. It will be followed =
by the CNM (National Center for Microelectronics) which belongs to =
Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cient=EDficas de Espa=F1a (CSIC), =
University of Santiago de Chile; Catholic University of Lima, Per=FA; =
ISPAJAE, University of La Habana, Cuba; University of Puerto Rico and =
SUR A&C (spanish engineering co. Developing fuzzy controls).
