JOINT EUROFUSE-SIC '99 CONFERENCE

25-28 May 1999

Budapest, Hungary

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS

INVITATION

After some years of little activity, the EURO Working Group on
Fuzzy Sets has revived, under the name EUROFUSE. As a general
principle, it should bring together people with different
backgrounds (like industry, university, etc) who are interested
in the same OR topic in order to exchange ideas, experiences and
research results.

The last EURO-WGFS Workshop took place in Visegrad, Hungary, on
December 11 - 13, 1990. In spite of this long break, we would
like to emphasize continuity by choosing Hungary once again as
the location of this event.

In 1996 the First Conference on Soft and Intelligent Computing
was held successfully in Budapest, Hungary. Topics included
fuzzy systems, artificial neural networks, genetic algorithms
and other related areas. The organizers would like to continue
this series of conferences, so in 1999 the second SIC will take
place in Budapest.

To realize this idea, we are glad to announce this conference,
arranged jointly between EUROFUSE and SIC. The main purpose of
it is to communicate and to promote knowledge of the theory of
fuzzy sets in OR-related areas, together with their
applications, together with other close fields.

Since fuzzy logic, fuzzy set theory and soft computing cover
much wider subjects than operational research itself, we decided
to organize a joint EUROFUSE-SIC conference. This way we expect
that all important topics could be included in the scope.
