POST DOCTORAL POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

I am looking for a bright individual with expertise in fuzzy reasoning
and knowledge based systems to work on a DARPA sponsored project at
AlliedSignal Inc., Research & Technology, located in Morristown, NJ.

The DARPA project that the post-doctoral research associate will work on
deals with self-organization of a network of sensors to achieve a given
network mission statement (i.e. goal). The individual will be
responsible for developing fuzzy reasoning system that will "translate"
the network mission statement into a goal that can be directly used by
the optimization routines. He/she will also develop effective methods
for pruning the search space.

Required qualifications: knowledge based systems, fuzzy reasoning, C/C++
programming
Additional desired qualifications: genetic algorithms, optimization,
MatLab

Start date: June 1, 1998
This position is for 12 months with a possibility of extension up to 2
years.
