ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN INDUSTRY: FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE

[SCOPE]
The conference is intended for scientists and practitioners as a
platform for discussion on the theory and application of
intelligent
technologies in industry. The aim of the conference is to bring
together artificial intelligence scientists and industry engineers
to
explore the benefits resulting from the combination of these two
fields, and to share their experience with successful practical
applications.

[MAIN TOPICS]
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the
employment
of the following intelligent technologies:

Expert Systems Evolutionary Algorithms

Fuzzy Systems Neuro-Fuzzy Systems

Neural Networks Constraint Satisfaction

Machine Learning Image Processing

Speech Recognition Special Algorithms

for solving real-world problems in industry concerning direct,
adaptive, and optimal control, CACE (computer aided control
engineering), planning and scheduling of production processes,
identification and diagnostics, controller tuning, engineering
design,
and modelling and simulation.

[CALL FOR PAPERS]
The Organizing Committee invites authors as well as participants.
The
symposium language is English. Authors are kindly asked to complete
Application form and send it as soon as possible to the organizer.
The
deadline for the draft full papers submission is

November 15, 1997.

The papers have to be prepared exactly according to the
Instructions
for Authors. The maximum size of the paper is 10 A4-size pages.
Papers
will be subject to review by an international paper reviewing
committee. About the results of reviewing of paper the authors will
be notified by
December 31, 1997.

The deadline for the submission of final paper(s) in camera-ready
form (2 hard copies, soft copy on floppy disk) and the registration
fee payment is
February 15, 1998.

At least one author for each paper must be paid registrant by
February 15, 1998 in order to have the paper appear in the
proceedings.

[FORMATTING INSTRUCTIONS]
The paper is to be written in either LaTeX or in MS Word using
provided style. We have prepared style files for both MS Word and
LaTeX. Style files can be downloaded from the Conference Web page
http://www.tuke.sk/tu/fei/kkui/events/aiii.html.

PRESENTATION
It is understood that each accepted paper is presented personally
at the Conference by one of its authors.

[REGISTRATION FEE]
The registration fee for authors and participants is 280.- US$,
free
of charge for the receiver, which includes the following: admission
to all sections and all demonstrations, one copy of proceedings,
accomodation and meal fees, welcome drink, refreshments, welcome
party. The registration fee should be payed by bank transfer to:
