Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department and The Artificial Intelligence
Center of the University of Georgia, jointly with researchers from Georgia Tech and
Georgia State University are establishing a center for decision support system related
to environmentally sound economic development. Numerous projects in this area will
be related to decision systems to evaluate alternatives for both economic profitability
and environmental sustainability.

We are looking for a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science,
Environmental/Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a graduate in related
field with knowledge of fuzzy logic, artificial neural networks, genetic algothrims, and
statistical methods. Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and
agricultural crop production systems will be desirable. The person in this position will
be responsible for developing decision support systems related to hillside farming
systems. The test site for this project will be in Cali, Columbia. Limited travel to test
sites and to the International Center in Cali, Columbia will be required.
