Dear Colleagues,

this is a reminder about the approaching deadline (November 30) of a
session on fuzzy expert systems and logic for fuzzy systems at the
Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Theory & Technology, to be held
during the third Joint Conference on Infomation Sciences.
On agreement of the chair conference, there will be a special issue
of the Information Sciences journal based on the session.

Call for Paper Special Session:
"FUZZY EXPERT SYSTEMS AND LOGIC FOR FUZZY SYSTEMS"
Organizers: Vincenzo LOIA and Salvatore SESSA

The Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy Theory & Technology is jointly
organized with other internation events, the Third International Conference
on Computer Science & Informatics, the Second International Conference on
Computational Intelligence & Neurosciences, the Fifth International Workshop
on Rough Sets and Soft Computing, the First International Workshop on
Semiotic Analysis and Design of Intelligent Systems, and the First
International Workshop on Frontiers in Evolutionary Algorithms.

On agreement of the chair conference of the Fifth International Conference
on Fuzzy Theory & Technology, we are organizing a special session titled
FUZZY EXPERT SYSTEMS and LOGIC FOR FUZZY SYSTEMS. This special session is
intended to cover a wide variety of research activities where Fuzzy Theory
is useful to improve intelligent systems. In accordance with the
organization of the conference we solicit theoretical papers, case studies,
experiences in realization of fuzzy expert systems, including also formal
many-valued logics for modeling general problem in fuzzy set theory.
Papers will be carefully reviewed. Accepted papers will appear in the
proceeding of the conference. The best high quality papers shall be accepted
in an extended version in a special issue of the International Journal of
Information Sciences, edited by organizers of this special session.

Submit 3 copies of the paper before November 30, 1996. A summary shall not
exceed 4 pages of 10-point font, double-column, single-spaced text, (1 page
minimum) with figures and tables included. Electronic submission of
postscript files is permitted. However, the author should also submit a copy
by FAX or regular mail. Abstracts, that cannot be accommodated in this
session, will be considered for other related sessions of the conference.
