(PLEASE NOTICE THAT THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED!!)

The Sixth IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems will be devoted to
the discussion of advances in both theoretical and applied aspects of fuzzy
systems and related subjects. The non-exhaustive list of topics of interest
is:

* Fuzzy Logic versus other Approximate Reasoning Models
* Fuzzy hardware and Software
* Real world Applications of Fuzzy Logic
* Fuzzy Logic and Soft Computing

- Signal Processing
- Image Understanding

- Learning and Knowledge Acquisition

PLENARY TALKS: J. Bezdek (USA), H. Prade (France) and E. Trillas (Spain)

TUTORIALS (July 1,2): A set of eight tutorials will address the following
areas: Reinforcement Learning, Applications, Data Bases, Fuzzy Constraints,
Data Mining, Logical Foundations, and Hardware. Already confirmed speakers
are: H. Berenji (USA), P.P. Bonissone (USA), P. Bosc (France), D. Dubois
(France), E.H. Ruspini (USA) and T. Yamakawa (Japan)

STUDENT SUPPPORT: A number of students will be partially supported to
attend the conference. For additional information contact Karen G. Haines

CALL FOR PAPERS:
Authors are invited to submit original papers about any aspects of research
and applications related to Fuzzy Logic and Fuzzy Systems. Papers will be
carefully reviewed. Accepted papers will appear in the FUZZ-IEEE'97
proceedings.
Authors are requested to send 4 copies of full papers, written in English
and not exceeding 8 pages, in A4 or 8'5" x 11" page format, with at least
2'5 cm. margins on all four sides. The font used must be Times or similar,
and the font size 10 pt. or larger. Papers must be written on one side of
the sheets and they should include authors name(s) and affiliation(s), an
abstract (max. 200 words) and a list of at the most 5 keywords. Fax or
e-mail submissions are not accepted. Papers must be sent to the Secretariat
address.

IMPORTANT DATES (Extended deadlines !!)
Submission deadline: November 15, 1996
Notification of acceptance: January 31, 1997
Camera ready form: March 15, 1997
