One nice thing about fuzzy logic is it is deterministic instead
of probablilistic-- given a set of input and a fuzzy matrix the out
come from different computer will be the same. This means fuzzy
logic has application in high reliability robotics such as
the Space Station Special Purpose Dexterous Manipultor where there
are two identical arrays of computers ( over two dozen ), and the
computation output from two arrays can be compared.
Fuzzy logic many also be applied to nuclear reactor safety
systems where triple redundancy is used. However the proof of
software safety in fuzzy logic based system is still an on going
research topics, and nuclear regulatory bodies many be nervous about
the word "fuzzy" :)
