The third meeting and combined symposium of the Symbol Technologies
Education Partnership (STEP) Lecturer Institute is to be held in the
National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, 20 June 1995 to coincide with the
ICAP EXPO '95 Exhibition and Conference devoted to Information Capture and
Processing.
Papers are being sought from academic institutions having interests and
research initiatives within the field of automatic data capture and
identification (Automatic Identification). Areas of particular interest
include, but are not limited to:
Matrix Codes, Stacked Symbologies and Error Control
Smart Card and Memory Card Technology
Programmable Magnetic Resonance Technology
Vision and Voice Recognition Systems
Neural and Fuzzy Applications for Auto-ID
Biometric Identification methods.
A 200-word synopsis of proposed papers should be sent to the symposium
organisers c/o Dr Anthony Furness, Automatic Identification Research Group,
Department of Physics and Electronics, Keele University, Staffordshire ST5
5BG by 7 May 1995. Authors will be notified by 14 May if papers are
accepted. Final copy of papers will be required by 9 June. The expectation
is to publish papers as Proceedings of the STEP Lecturer Institute.
