But intent and interpretation are major issues. You only need to think of
statistics where similar terms (eg confidence interval) and even identical
formulae are used by schools as different as the frequentists and the bayesians.
They have totally different views on: what they are trying to do; what is
possible; and the interpretation of the formulae.
I suppose I am really saying that intent and interpretation are the areas where
I have most problems understanding the fuzzy movement. Where is a good place
to find a discussion on such topics as intent and interpretation in the fuzzy
field; ideally relating it to other schools of uncertain reasoning.

BTW I have managed to find only a very limited coverage of such issues in
the much older field of statistics (Bennett's book being a very honourable
exception). It's difficult to do, and demands a breadth of vision much wider
than a single school of thought.
