    Dear Colleague;

    It has been several questions with respect to project that I would like
    to summarize as follow:

    1. The new initiative is mainly for Fuzzy Community that their area of
    research is to solve systems of Partial Differential Equations
    analytically or numerically given the fuzziness on both independent and
    dependent variables and parameters. The problem domain (phase I/2002)
    includes solving system of partial differential equations (specifically;
    elliptic PDE) with boundary conditions (10s of equations). Phase II
    (2003) includes solving more complex problem and 100s of equations and
    phase III includes 1000's of equations (2004-...). More detailed
    information will be sent to short list and eventually all detailed will
    be provided to selected researchers after review process during
    workshop. A more detailed information will be also provided during Dec
    to all fuzzy community.

    2. Funding is for both US and non- US researchers through BISC-Sponoser
    program mainly but not limited.

    3. Techniques to be used include using numerical solutions (and very
    limited analytical solution) of PDEs through direct methods, iterative
    methods, explicit methods, implicit method and semi-implicit method or
    sequential semi-implicit methods.

    Best Regards,

    Immediate Request and Response/ BISC Program
    WHO'S WHO LIST: Fuzzy Partial Differential Equation and Simulation
    ==================================
    To: BISC Members and Fuzzy Communities
    From: BISC Program
    Subject: Fuzzy Partial Differential Equation and Simulation

    Dear colleagues;

    BISC program compiling the list of who's who in "Fuzzy Partial
    Differential Equation and Simulation". This is in effort to secure
    funding for the BISC and fuzzy community around the world in this field
    through BISC program by the new BISC sponsor which is one of the top
    three giant companies around the world. Please forward the following
    information as soon as possible:

    1. Name
    2. Affiliation
    3. Address: Tel, Fax, Email, and URL
    4. References related to the subject of the research

    We have finalized our discussion with the new BISC sponsor in this
    field
    and there will be a three days workshop during Feb 2001 (supported
    solely by Sponsor) for proposal development and provide funding for the
    group of researchers that would provide unique solution. A short list
    of
    researchers will be selected and our sponsor agreed to provide the full
    support including Travel, Hotel, etc. expenses during this workshop
    which will be held during Feb. 2002 at UC Berkeley. More detailed
    information will be sent to the short list with more detailed of the
    BISC Program and sponsor's needs.
    In addition, an open call for contribution to the workshop will be sent
    to all researchers as early as Dec 2001. A Review committe is formed
    and
    more detailed will be forwarded as request as early as Dec 1, 2001.

    Looking forward to your contribution.

    Best Regards,
    Masoud Nikravesh
