Hi everyone!

I'm looking for algorithms and methods to implement a fuzzy search in
a name database.

A Brief Problem Description

I've implemented a type of phonetic name search based on Metaphone by
Lawrence Philips (http://hissa.nist.gov/dads/HTML/metaphone.html,
http://www.lanw.com/java/phonetic/default.htm).
But I'm not very happy with the results. My problem in this case are too
many
names from different languages (German, English, Czech, Polish, French,
Croatian, Russian, ...) with different pronounciation.

Maybe a fuzzy solution would manage this better?

Best regards,
Juergen Plasser
