IT will become a long rule such as :
(Mon, 08:30,08:30, "AbC",555) -- denotes 8:30AM to 8:30 AM on Monday
should have : value 1 = "ABC", value 2=555 (Mon, 08:10,14:00,"DEF",435)

So, there will be overlapping times similar to fuzzy sets as explained
in some fuzzy logic samples. So, if I was to query something like (Mon,
08:15) or (Mon, 08:00) -- it should give me an approximate reasoning. I
can also add more information to the above database about such readings
-- this I beleive is termed as weights in the AI terminology.

So, do you think approximate reasoning/fuzzy logic is the right
approach for such a problem ?"

At an elementary level, perhaps, so that the system's response was a set
of fuzzy memberships in the various output classes. I don't know that
one would actually be performing any fuzzy inference, and it might be
just as reasonable to call the outputs 'certainty factors'. Really, I
think the biggest problem you'll face is searching the rules if they
grow in number.
