Lars,
        Defuzzification simplifies, it does not give ALL the
information. In your undefuzzified result it is plain that
exactly 25 Kg N/hectare is not the only likely outcome and
the linguistic description captures the uncertainty.

        I like to think that SIMPLE values like high and
medium can be understood by any administrator when a fuzzy
lexicon is provided. But I am not so sure about more complex
ones that include connectives and qualifiers as in "(fuzzily
high) or (possibly medium) or (possibly possibly low) kg N
pr. Hectare." Such phrases may require some explanation and
training.
