INFORMATION ON POSITION:
The Department of Electrical Engineering is now inviting applications
for a number of Post-Doctoral Research Fellow positions. Candidates should
have a Ph.D or should be
expected to finish Ph.D.studies in half a year. The Prospective candidates
good publication records and will be appointed under the scale of Research
Fellow (Scale B) in
NUS.The condition and length of the appointment will depend on the candidate
NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SINGAPORE TERMS OF SERVICE FOR RESEARCH APPOINTMENTS
The terms of service for research appointments may differ from those for teaching staff, depending on the Research Institute/Centre the appointees are attached to or the research grant under which they are appointed.
Terms of Service for Research Fellows/Scientists
In general, the following terms and conditions of service may be provided for Research Fellows/Scientists (for candidates with a PhD degree) in the Univeristy, depending upon the merits of each case:
Appointments may be for a duration up to three years. Continued employment may be considered, depending on the merits and circumstances of each appointment.
Gross annual emoluments ranging from: S$51,410 - 73,300
Provident Fund Contributions: applicable to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, in accordance with the CPF Act. For those below 55, currently the staff member and the University each contributes 20% and 10% of gross monthly salary, subject to a maximum of $1200 p.m. and $700 p.m. respectively. Contributions are tax-exempt and may be withdrawn at the age of 55 or when the staff member leaves Singapore/Malaysia permanently;
Gratuity Scheme: applicable to those who are not Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents. For those below 55, a gratuity based on 25% of the staff member's last-drawn salary for each completed month of service, subject to a maximum of $2750, will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the entire contract. The gratuity, which will be payable in a lump sum at the end of the contract, is taxable;
subsidised accommodation ;
leave benefits, such as holiday and conference leave;
limited medical benefits;
passage assistance and baggage allowance on appointment and expiry of contract.
