There are some work that tried to convert MLP networks(with logic
sigmoid function) into fuzzy rule systems:

J. Benitez, J. Castro, and I. Requena, "Are artificial neural networks black
boxes?," IEEE Trans. Neural Networks, vol. 8, pp. 1156-1164, 1997.

A.L. Cechin, U. Epperlein, W. Rosenstiel, B. Koppenhoefer,"The extraction of
Sugeno fuzzy rules from neural networks". ESANN'96: European Symposium on
Artificiel Neural Networks, 1996

The following work is concerned with converting general RBF networks into
interpretable fuzzy rule systems:

Y. Jin, W. von Seelen and B. Sendhoff, "An approach to rule based knowledge
extraction". IEEE Conference on Fuzzy Systems, pp.1188-1193. Anchorage, AL,1998

Besides, there are large number of papers that transfer MLP networks into
symbolic rules, e.g.

R. Anderews and S. Geva, "Inserting and extracting knowledge from constrained
error backpropagation networls. Proc. 6th Australian Conf. on Neural Networks,
Sydney, 1995
