Version 0.46 of the Rossum's Playhouse (RP1) robot simulator
is now available. RP1 is an open-source, free software project.
It provides a 2-D simulation environment (a virtual world)
to assist developers writing software and logic for robotic
applications.

The primary audiences for RP1 are programmers, students,
and researchers.

  FAQ: http://www.connix.com/~gwlucas/faq.html

The most interesting new feature in this release may be the
introduction of a C-language interface. Although RP1 itself
is written in Java, the C-language interface will allow programmers
working in C or C++ to use the simulator. Right now, the
C interface is a proof-of-concept implementation which does
not implement the full set of RP1 functions. I hope to
locate collaborators who can help finish the interface.

The C code has been tested under Linux and several Unix variants,
and should port to Windows with only minor changes.

Other additions to the package include the ability to model
line-following robots and fixes to several bugs.

Thank you.
