Fuzzy expert systems are very far from dead. Myself, Bill Combs and Earl Cox,
among others, make a living building fuzzy expert systems. We are building
on-line real-time systems for hospital intensive care units at the moment.

Research on fuzzy expert systems is not in any way dependent on the language
used. Any reasonable language will do. I've even used DOS Basic!
