    In my book Fuzzy Logic: Mathematical Tools for Approximate Reasoning (Kluwer
    Ed.) I proposed an approach to fuzzy control in such a way that a set of
    IF-THEN rules is translated into a fuzzy program in a first order
    (multivalued) logic. The basic idea is that a rule as
     IF x is Big then y is Slow
    is translated into a clause as
    Good(x,y) :- Big(x) AND Slow(y)
    In accordance, the claculus of the fuzzy function associated with a fuzzy
    system of rules becomes the calculus of the fuzzy least Herbrand model of a
    fuzzy program.
