                          =============================
              2nd International Conference on Internet Computing
              (IC'2001) to be held in Las Vegas, June 25-28, 2001.
              IC'2001 is a part of The 2001 International MultiConference
                    <http://www.ashland.edu/~iajwa/conferences/>

                            Technical Session I:
      Traffic, protocols, and quality of service in high-performance networks
                     (Submission Deadline: March 10, 2001)
                        (Responsible: Ljiljana Trajkovic)

                            Technical Session II:
            Wireless Internet: Protocols and Applications
                     (Submission Deadline: March 10, 2001)
                       (Responsible: Peter Langendoerfer)

      Dear Colleagues:

      We would like to invite you to contribute to the technical sessions:

      ``Traffic, protocols, and quality of service in high-performance networks''

      This technical session will include research results in the area of
      traffic collection, characterization, and modeling;
      protocols for packet networks and their performance;
      and various measures of quality of service in high-performance networks.
      It will also address intelligent control in packet networks
      and mechanisms for improving network's performance.
      Of interest are also research reports dealing with simulation studies of
      packet networks and measurements of quality of service (QoS)
      in test-beds and live networks.

      Relevant topics include but are not limited to:
      * Network traffic:
      * collection
      * characterization
      * modeling
      * Performance of network protocols
      * Simulation of packet networks
      * Evaluation of Quality of Service

      ``Wireless Internet: protocols and applications''

      This technical session covers the range from the application down to
      the protocol mechanisms. The idea is to establish an open discussion
      about how applications will look in the Wireless Internet and which
      mechanisms (middleware and protocols) are needed to support those
      applications. The role of IP as a convergence layer between wireless
      LANs and cellular networks is also of interest. Contributions
      reporting experiences with new applications, deployment of W-LANs etc.
      are also welcome.

      Relevant topics include but are not limited to:
      * Applications:
      * new applications (location/situation aware services, games etc.)
      * requirements of applications like QoS or location awareness
      * Middleware for wireless networks:
      * concepts
      * frameworks
      * components
      * Power management
      * Protocol optimizations
      * Deployment of new networks and applications

      Please let us know if you have paper(s) that you would like to contribute,
      or if you know of colleagues that may like to submit their works
      to these special sessions.

      SUBMISSION OF PAPERS:

      Prospective authors are invited to submit original research papers
      (approximately 5 pages in length). Electronic submission is preferred.
      The length of the Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be limited to
      7 pages. Papers must not have been previously published
      or currently submitted for publication elsewhere.

      The first page of the draft paper should include:
      title of the paper, name, affiliation, postal address,
      E-mail address, telephone number, and Fax number for
      each author. The first page should also include the
      name of the author who will be presenting the paper
      (if accepted) and a maximum of 5 keywords.

      IMPORTANT DATES:

      March 10, 2001 (Saturday): Draft papers due
      April 2, 2001 (Monday): Notification of acceptance
      May 1, 2001 (Tuesday): Camera-Ready papers and
      Pre-registration due
      June 25 - 28, 2001: PDPTA'2001 + CISST'2001 + IC-AI'2001 +
