    The second Asian Symposium on industrial Robotics and Automation to be
    held in Bangkok on May 17-18, 2001.

    IMPORTANT DATES

      * Abstracts due February 15,2001
      * Notification of acceptance March 2, 2001
      * Final camera ready manuscript March 30, 2001

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION

    The two day symposium will consist of invited plenary sessions,
    presentation of technical papers, case studies and discussions. Under the
    theme, applications of state-of-art technologies involving original
    research, case studies and critical reviews will be presented in the
    context of technological needs of developing countries. This symposium
    will give an excellent opportunity for leading researchers and
    academicians to present their research and gain recognition from leading
    industrial and research communities. For the industrial executives, this
    event will act as a crystal bowl for looking at the future of Robotics and
    Automation which will shape up manufacturing in the next millennium.

    SYMPOSIUM TOPICS

    A broad range of research and applied topics will be covered during the
    symposium. Papers are solicited describing original work but not limited
    to following technical areas :

     Linear motions and control technology, developments and applications
     Robot fundamentals including dynamics, kinematics and control
     Novel sensing and actuation schemes including sensor fusion for robots
     Robotics and computer vision for precise Automation
     Path-Planning and collision avoidance
