    Because we believe "that humans deal with imprecision and uncertainty by
    using linguistic values and that they apply some kind of approximate
    reasoning techniques rather than exact numerical values and first order
    logic". (Fuzzy Sets and Approximate Reasoning, Etienne E. Kerre, Xian
