    Full Time - Continuing position (AS00-18)

    * Salary increase of 3% due on 1st July 2001. In addition an employer
    contribution to superannuation of 17% of salary and annual leave loading is
    provided. Salary packaging is also available.

    The School of Electrical and Information Engineering has a strong and
    distinctive record of teaching and research in the areas of computer systems
    engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, telecommunications
    engineering and applied physics. The Institute for Telecommunications
    Research, Systems Engineering and Evaluation Centre, the Computer Systems
    Engineering Centre and 5 other research groups provide an excellent research
    environment, strengthened by the participation in CRC for Satellite Systems.
    The School offers PhD and masters by research programmes, and has over 90
    postgraduate students.

    Duties include providing leadership and undertaking teaching and research in
    Telecommunications and Computer Systems Engineering, with specific emphasis on
    computer and telecommunications networking, real time and distributed systems.
    Duties may include program co-ordination activities at Level C.

    Essential criteria include a PhD degree or equivalent accreditation and
    standing, a first degree in computer systems/electronic engineering or related
    discipline and a proven research and scholarship record or considerable
    professional experience in research, development and application of
    telecommunications/computer systems engineering.
