Mail configuration

Mail client configuration for your TU mail account @tuwien.ac.at

Please note that you must set up the account from within the TU network (if necessary via VPN); further use is possible from any network!

Incoming server:

Server	mail.intern.tuwien.ac.at
Username	your TU login name (usually first letter of first name, and the begin of surname up to 7 letters)
Password	your TU password
Port	IMAPs/993
Connection security	SSL/TLS
Authentication method	Normal password
Mail prefix	<none>

Outgoing server:

Server	mail.intern.tuwien.ac.at
Username	your TU login name (usually first letter of first name, and the begin of surname up to 7 letters)
Password	your TU password
Port	587
Connection security	STARTTLS
Authentication method	Normal password

To keep away unwanted mails, we are currently using this measures:

mail blocks which use technical requirements of client and sender to reject mails
mail filter which check the whole mail for spam phrases
